Location

Fontem is located in the District of Lebialem in the South-West Region of Cameroon, approximately 600 km north of the equator. It’s a rural, mountainous area surrounded by rain forrests. During the rainy season (from April – November) working conditons become really difficult. Especially transport becomes a big problem.

The road to Dschang, the next bigger city (approx. 40 km away) is not asphalted and turns into a mud piste. If ever only 4WD vehicles can pass this road. During dry season Dschang can be accesed within two hours travel time, the next international airport is another five hours away.
